Greatest Misses Vol 1

Cover

Greetings from Musical Obscurity! Back in the early 70s I bummed around the Tahoe basin with my 3-piece rock power trio Fast Cotton. We played all the usual haunts, had a great time and made next to no money. With Texas bassist David Sumners, we went from guitar pickers to rock promoters and lost our shirts producing Freddie King & The Delta Wires at the old King’s Castle (currently Hyatt Northshore). As Socrates said, “Feces occur.” When I started visiting Tahoe again, this time as a tourist, I thought, “how cool would it be to play in the area again.”

After Googling live venues on the North Shore and Truckee (none of the old venues were still open), Mike Blide at the Cottonwood Inn in Truckee told me I could come pick on his deck and Madigan’s Pub said, “have at it.” I mailed all the nursing homes to see if any of my fans were still alive and hopefully they will fire up their wheelchairs and walkers for this show. This CD is a compilation of live and studio cuts that gives you some idea what I’ve been up to for the last 30 years. Thanks to Ron & Linda Fujiu on the West Shore, Mojo Mickey Lees & Erika in King’s Beach and Mike Blide in Truckee for taking the shot.
