Being the publisher/editor of a tourist guide is a great job. I get to meet lots of great musicians, artists and other luminaries. When we started Heart Beat Magazine almost five years ago we had one mission – to let folks know about all the great music and arts in the Texas Hill Country. We made a conscientious decision to be a positive voice and avoid any negativity or controversy.

As a result I haven’t been publishing any of my political screeds on social media. On my own web site however I can publish anything I want.

Most of the articles are dated material but still have contemporary relevance as little to nothing has changed since their original publication.

I was tempted to dive in during the 2016 election cycle – there was certainly a lot to write about but decided to sit on the sidelines.

No more. The state of our government today is such that sitting on the sidelines is no longer an option. Being a freethinking independent, I have a great knack for pissing everybody off. So hang on to your hats dear readers, I’m fixing to spew.
